Mara

Mara Szyp is an emerging Argentinian Canadian artist and three time cancer survivor. She specializes in West Coast landscape and contemporary abstract. Her preferred medium is oil. She now dedicates herself full time to art and creates evocative pieces that transport viewers to the unique beauty of coastal environments.

In my life, I've journeyed through moves and reinventions, guided by a whisper urging me to "keep seeking." Suddenly, life revealed its truth: "You are home."

I paint to break free from the chains that bind me – body, mind, and soul. With each new artwork, I express who I was while embracing who I'm becoming. Creating art gives my life purpose and meaning.

In my portraits, I glimpse through their eyes; in my nudes, I feel through their skin; and in my abstracts, I scream, dance, and grow alongside their endless shapes – reflecting the bright evolution of my life as an artist.
