This piece is inspired by a deep personal loss that I suffered early in 2024. In this work I try to reveal the layers of grief, anger, and sadness that come with the sudden loss of a loved one. On the surface a face is presented that, while maybe not the happiest, it locks away the deeper layers of anger, sadness, the need to scream and to be heard.

I chose the wet plate method for this piece because of its ability to create layers of imagery that can reveal deeper truths within.
